The menorah symbolizes both that first menorah in the temple which was able to be lit for eight days and the menorah also symbolizes the eight days of hanukah itself. Eight candles are lit, one for each day of celebration. Starting with one candle lit on the menorah on the first night of celebration, on each successive night another candle is lit until on the eighth night all candles of the menorah are aglow.
These menorahs that I create add a new sculptural aspect to the menorah. They are beautiful enough to be on display without even being lit. But once they light up, especially on the eighth night of Hanukah, it is a truly magical light.
